“I am excited about our schedule and the challenges it brings,” said John McCormack, FAU’s head baseball coach. “We are looking forward to the 2014 schedule and the opportunities created by our move to Conference USA”
The Owls host 11 of their first 13 games, and 17 of their first 22, at the FAU Baseball Stadium in Boca Raton. FAU, who won 44 games last season, will open its slate by hosting Notre Dame in a three-game series on Saturday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 followed by a series with Monmouth University, St. John’s University and Boston College. FAU’s first road trip comes on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 as it takes on the University of Miami at 6 p.m. in Coral Gables. The Hurricanes finished 2013 ranked No. 19 in the NCAA poll with a 37-25 record.
FAU’s first taste of C-USA action comes on Friday, March 7, 2014 as the Owls travel to face UTSA in a weekend series. After coming back home to host the University of Maine, Louisiana Tech University and FIU, the Owls will face their longest road stretch of the season with three games at Rice University and a pair at UNF. Rice, a perennial C-USA leader, also finished last ranked just behind FAU at No. 25.
Following a home three-game series with University of Southern Miss, the Owls head to Gainesville to take on the University of Florida on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 7 p.m. After that bout with the Gators, FAU plays its northernmost series of the season at Marshall University beginning Friday, April 4 through Sunday, April 6, 2014.
The Owls take on FGCU in a home-and-home series on Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19, 2014 before hosting Charlotte in its sixth C-USA series of 2014. FAU stays in South Florida for the remainder of the month, traveling to Miami and FIU before returning home on Sunday, April 23, 2014 to host Miami.
FAU rounds out its season with nine of its final 13 games at home, including single games against Bethune-Cookman University and UCF and series against East Carolina University and UAB, with trips to Old Dominion University and UCF, splitting up the home stand. FAU’s regular season comes to a close on Sunday, May 18, 2014 with the final game of the UAB series.
The Owls will look for a championship in their new conference at the C-USA Baseball Championship Tournament, Wednesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 25, 2014 in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Florida Atlantic University baseball fans can get their first look at this year’s team as the Owls host the Ontario Blue Jays on Wednesday evening at the FAU Baseball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. and admission is free.
The Blue Jays are the top amateur baseball program in Canada and tour the United States to compete against universities around the country. The goal of the program is to develop 18-and-under players to help them obtain collegiate or professional baseball opportunities.
Ontario has played at fellow Florida schools this week, including Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast.
Nice team win tonight. The guys played well. Thank you to the Ontario Blue Jays. Good luck in Jupiter.

So I guess it is kind of easy to see the advantage of keeping a good man in house when you have the chance.
