Anyone going to this watered-down version of Midnight Madness tomorrow evening??

I thought we were trying to build a basketball tradition at FAU, but getting rid of one of the best college hoops traditions (Midnight Madness) is an absolute joke.

Then again, I laughed so much at Sidney's coaching last year, I would expect such a joke from a comedian like him.

got to admit, i've never been to a midnight madness. what exactly goes on? i'm guessing first there's a pro introduction for each player, ala chicago bulls. then there's a lay-up/dunk drill. then there's a practice game, starters against subs, that plays out more like an NBA all star game with more dunks and fancy passes then blocks and charges.

am i far off?

I went last night... It was alright.. Free food, Free t-shirts and other give aways.. got to see the FAU dance team perform and the cheerleaders. They introduced the team and coach green talked. He promised another confrence championship this year although in my opinion they looked alittle short, maybe they make up for it in skill? There were no drills just stuff for the audience to do like a musical chairs round up contest, free throw contest... stuff like that. It wasnt bad I would go again next year. I like the womens volleyball game before hand ;D also the cheerleaders and dance team look real good, although the cheerleaders missed catching one of the girls.. opps :-X

i know the rule is no practices until 12:01am, did it not last that long?

lol.. it lasted alittle over an hour.. I was actually suprised how many students showed up there was a croud of about a 1000 and most all were students.

Well that's what happens when you offer free food. Maybe if we had offered them the chance to throw the food at Sidney instead of eating it, more might have showed.
