FAU Clipped 6-5 In Game Two of Troy Series
David Wilson hit the first pitch of the night over the wall, helping FAU build an early 3-1 lead. But Troy evened the game by scoring twice in the third.
Trailing 5-3 in the seventh, FAU's Tom Hatcher hit a towering two-run homer to tie the game, 5-5.
In mid-relief, Chris Schmitt (4-2) worked through three-plus innings until back-to-back singles followed a hit batter, lead to a Troy run in the seventh.
Chris Sorce would dash the Owl's hopes of the comeback, striking out four of the six batters he faced to earn his third save.
The Owls have now lost 11 of 15 since beginning the season 13-3.
FAU is in need of a last chance series win tommorow, as they now stand at 6-10 in Sun Belt play.
