Fiorentino makes A's opening-day roster...

…then looks silly trying to catch Manny Ramirez's double today in the first game in Japan! He didn't start, but came in as a pinch runner and stayed in CF.

It's OK, Jeff….we still love you.

GO OWLS IN THE MAJORS!

I see he is our only Owls in the majors after Carmen Cali and Tommy Murphy were assigned to minor-league camps earlier this month.

Re: Fiorentino makes A's opening-day roster...

From today's S.F. Chronicle:

Fiorentino's roster spot is in jeopardy when the A's get back because they will have to move starters Justin Duchscherer and Dana Eveland onto the 25-man roster from the Tokyo-only 28-man roster.

"Not my decision; I don't have a clue," Fiorentino said. "I only can control what I do on the field, and if that's good enough, Ill be here, and if not, I'll work my rear off to give them a reason to put me back on the roster."

Makes sense.  Let's bump Jeff for a guy named Dana who has a career ERA of 7.55.  ::)
