FAU split with Belmont today to go to 19-12,7-7 on the year. FAU is now is sole posession of 5th place in the ASUN and a win in tomorrows deciding game will greatly help us stay in the top 6 for the conference tourney. Not to mention a win would prevent FAU from losing their fourth consecutive conference series, something pretty darn important at this point.
As per usual Mike McBryde and Mickey Storey were the biggest heroes for FAU today in GAme 2. McBryde went 3 for 5 with 2 homers and 6 RBIs and Storey pitched 5 innings without an earned run to lower his ERA to 1.05. Justin Martin also had a big day going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and Tim Mascia had a homerun in Game 1 for FAU.
Lets go FAU!-Beat Belmont tomorrow-we cant afford to have a losing record at the mid point of the conference season, especially since we havent played the two best teams yet(Tory and UCF).

FAU really needs to kick it into high gear for the last half of the season, especially with a series against Troy next weekend and another big one at UCF the week after that.

I still think they are going to have to win the Atlantic Sun tournament to get a regional bid this year. If UCF or Troy wins the conference, the other will definitely make regionals. That would leave only one possible berth for an A-Sun team, but sending three teams isn't guaranteed. Only FAU and UCF went last year.

Right now I don't see FAU as the third best team in the conference. They've given away too many series this season to inferior teams. Plus if they get into regionals as the No.3 team from the A-Sun, we all know where we're going… back to Coral Gables, again.
