Good News/Bad News

With the A-Sun race to the tourney playoff positions coming down to the last week the good news is we are playing at home beginning with game 1 tonight against ETSU. The other good news is we are not being subjected to a double-header like all the other A-Sun teams in the race which will be another advantage for us. With the other teams completing their series on Friday, we will also know where we stand going into Saturday's final game of the regular season.
Now for the bad news:
If you have read KC's most recent diary posting perhaps you noted, as I did, a sense of deflation. He makes the comment:
"Ovy Ramirez was playing his last game for us on Sunday, and he came to the plate in the eighth with a chance to put us on top. He delivered a clutch single and we were back on top with two innings to go." (italics added)
Apparently due to academic reasons we will be without the services of Ovy. Although Ovy has struggled of late, he leads the team in RBI and will be sorely missed. Presumably Cook will be his replacement. Needless to say, we need Danny boy to step up bigtime…..along with all the rest of the of the Owls. Leave it all on the field boys. Go Owls!!

Good News/Bad News

1 down, 2 to go. Cook came through nicely and the middle of the order delivered the punch we needed. Mickey was outstanding (except for the shaky 3rd where 2 unearned runs scored). We're looking good with the losses by Lipscomb & GW. Hopefully KS can take a couple from Campbell. We'll have a much better idea of where we stand by game time tonight with all of todays other A-Sun games being afternoon affairs. Of course KS & Campbell will now have to play game 3 on Sat. I'll be gametracking at work today to stay abreast of the competition and try to give updates for any who are interested & able to check in. Go Owls!
