Despite what happan this past series against New Orleans I am still proud of our guys.  They could have easily given up in all three of these games, but fought hard all the way to the end.  Game one they are down 10-1 with all the rain delays, but battled back to make it tight.  Games two and three the guys got down early, but faught back and took short time leads.  Also how unlucky can you be losing two games by walk-off homeruns.

Starting Tuesday the FAU Owls baseball team needs to regroup.  The Owls have two games against Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday and one against Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesdayand will face Florida Gulf Coast again on 5-13-08.  The guys also have two very winnable conference series against Arkansas State and rival FIU.  And don't forget, once the Sunbelt Tournament starts on May 20 anything can happan.

How this season is gone is very similar to my high school baseball team.  We had a huge game against one of the areas top ranked teams and a bitter rival.  Anyways we were up 5-4 with 2 outs in the last inning and the batter had a 0-2 count.  The batter ended up hitting a walk-off homerun and we lost the game and lost what would have been a first round bye in the district tourney.  The team came together and faught hard and ended up going to the district title game after winning three games in three days, now in high school this is very challenging.  The reason why I bring this is up is because in baseball the season is never over until the last out is recorded.  A lot can happen for FAU between now and the Sunbelt Conference Tournament Title game.  Hopefully the guys might read this and try it and see what happens.  You never know.

Even if they don't end up going to the NCAA Tourney I will still be happy with this team because they have faced a lot of adversity this year and have battled their hearts out.  Oh one more thing Kevin Cooney is the best and the program should be handed over to John McCormack.
