"Junior right-hander Paul Davis tossed his second consecutive gem, throwing 8.2 scoreless innings in picking up his team-leading fifth victory in a 3-0 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday, March 26. The junior college transfer struck out seven batters and scattered nine base hits to shut down the Blue Raiders.
Davis retired the first eight batters he faced and did not allow a base runner to reach scoring position until the sixth inning. He leads the Sun Belt Conference with a 1.30 earned run average and has allowed just two runs in 17.2 innings pitched in two league starts. Of the nine base hits he surrendered on Saturday, none of them went for extra bases. He stands 5-0 on the season and has an amazing 32 strikeouts to three walks issued on the season in 33 innings pitched."
