That 1st scrimmage should be real testy too. Lot's of people looking at finally getting their first shot at playing. There are upcoming true sr's who haven't even set foot on the field yet as starters! Then you have the same situation with jr's. Special teams only.
That must be a driving force in itself.
I just hope all come through healthy. Very much unlike Dekolan James. :( That poor guy didn't have much luck avoiding injuries for his entire 3 years here.

The way he was running the ball in the fall I had high hopes for our running game and then ….. . Well everything worked out ok in the end.
Are we going to continue rotating between Parker, Barron & Jackson?
And is Dekolan James going to make a major impact after a year of recovery.
Or are we going to have a freshman blow everybody away?

His size would be an added bonus. Looking at him earlier this year he looks like he's around 6'0 210lbs.
All the backs are good.
Hopefully they will settle on a back and give him the bulk of carries. I personally like AJ as the featured back. Parker is ok but he doesn't have the breakaway speed like AJ has.
"Blink" Barron is good on certain situations (3rd and long draw plays) when he can make you miss in the backfield. His size just don't carry it too far anymore.
Frosh and RS Frosh:
There's a good one from Miami Norland (BJ Manley)who may make some noise this year. I don't see anyone else stepping up and taking a spot.
Walker from Lakeland tailed off last year during the fall practices.

Barron does have nice break-out speed. The one I had high hopes for as far as being a big 3rd-down back was Sanchez. Turned out to be a major disappointement.
I think that what ever happens at that position we will have some depth and we may just very well need it. Should make for a very interesting spring session.

FAU let a good one get away last year. Pitt had a FB from Tampa Jesuit, who also wanted to return to play in Florida along with Pitt transfer Bynes. 6'0 235. Nebraska and Missouri offered him last year. He wanted to get out of the cold.
FAU relied on Sanchez so they never offered him. Southeast Louisiana picked him up and he is hungry to get back onto the field. Watch his stats!
We can really use a bruising FB like Jamall Branch. Man, there's that name again.. >:(

We do need that big FB for the short yardage & the Red Zone area, that was a major weakness last year.
The depth on offensive hopefully will bring great results this year. The offensive line should be improved and a eager bunch this year.
I'm starting to goose bumps with all this talk. ;D

I wonder how organize the Sat(3/27)scrimmage will be?
Or will it be mostly a teaching day.
Good question - there always room for teaching & learning new plays, etc…
This early in spring with a bunch of veterans on the team and the expectations high from both the players & coaches - great position to be in.
Another area of concern is our secondary, what are your thoughts here?
