A vote on Sun Belt expansion is growing less likely

A bigger, brighter Sun Belt Conference apparently will have to wait.

With less than month left until the Sun Belt’s spring meetings, the odds of the conference voting on expansion during the upcoming conference in Destin have decreased by the day.

Georgia State is the obvious choice in my opinion. They have an enrollment of close to 30,000 and they are in Atlanta. They would definitely be a good fit if in the near future the SBC moves forward with the addition of another team.

Isn't FGCU supposed to add a football team? If they do that I'd rather see them than GA State.

Even a move up for FGCU in all sports

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Not any time soon and if the sun-belt dose add we need to take established programs no more start ups

Question, what established FBS schools want In to the Sunbelt? None that I know of, even La. Tech detests the Belt and made it known when they left and every day since.

Do I want them back in? For what, a trip to Ruston, La????????????? Heck no.

Will they be a big draw here??? Heck no.

That leaves adding FBS programs like Ga. State, or App. St. as the best options. At least they offer different locations to travel to and Ga. State, being in Atlanta, would help with media contracts for the conference.

Actually, my only hope for the Belt is that we get out of it ourselves ASAP - to CUSA or even (longshot) to the BigEast.

Well UCF to Big East isn't dead yet. So if that happens I wouldn't be shocked to get a C-USA invite
