Any Owls making the trek to Murfreesboro ?

Our tailgating crew always welcomes visiting fans. We hosted a crew from McNeese State for our big loss last Thursday.

We tailgate next to the Kennon Hall of Fame, which is just about a 3-minute walk to the football stadium.

Hope to see a few Owls. I NEVER see any FIU Panthers.

If you have any questions about MT or Murfreesboro, just ask it here on this thread.

Thanks for your post.  We are coming to town and staying in Franklin near the team.  What should we see and do?  Where to tailgate?

I assume you will be in the Cool Springs area. Make sure to eat at Loveless Cafe' Loveless Cafe , a local landmark (great breakfast, or any time really).

Lot of Civil War history in Franklin – Carnton Plantation tour is good, if you are a history buff. A famous book that Oprah got everyone to read is written about this home.

If you are into the bar/nightlife scene, head to downtown Nashville and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge Tootsies World Famous Orchid Lounge in Downtown Nashville (and many other venues). The original Grand Old Opry is also downtown & open for tours – called the Ryman Auditorium.

The Opryland Hotel Gaylord Hotels | Vacation Resorts and Convention Centers is a very cool place in Nashville to walk around and people watch, right next to a huge mall– Opry Mills, and the Grand 'Ole Opry,

There is also a cool Greenway system near the Opry area, that goes on for miles.

The Natchez Trace is  nearby if you would just like to drive around and see some hills.

Kix Brooks (Brooks & Dunn) owns a winery in between Franklin and Murfreesboro, called Arrington Vineyards, which is a popular place.

Some good hiking in the area. Just depends on what you like to do.

Franklin has been voted "Best Small City in the USA" by various publications. It is the richest county in the state,  like the Boca Area is to Florida.

Here is the link to the Visitors Site :  About Franklin, Tennessee

The Franklin square area is very neat, with Southern charm, and the ladies will like the shopping.

Here is the parking/tailgating map:  2012 Gameday Parking Map by Middle Tennessee State University - Issuu

Many visiting fans tailgate off of Greenland Drive– you'll see it labeled at the link above.

You could also park and tailgate in the Bell Street parking area, where it says "students and fans".

Other than that, you can just walk around and tailgate at the various spots . The major tailgating for MT fans are Walnut Grove (students, young alumni), and the section that says "G", which is off of Greenland. The "G" spot is where we tailgate.
