Good move on the coaches part. I know they do it anyway but to add extra attention for the youngsters will only be more beneficial.

Good Luck guys!

Owls Prep for Big 10 Foe
Florida Atlantic will face Minnesota this weekend.

Sept. 15, 2005

BOCA RATON, FL – Florida Atlantic University's football team focused on details Thursday afternoon during its final practice before leaving for Minneapolis, MN.

The Owls concentrated on special teams for a large portion of practice, executing kick coverage and return drills.

"Special teams are always an integral part of every football game and we have to do a lot better in that phase of the game," head coach Howard Schnellenberger said.

The Owl special teams got some good news earlier this week when they got word punter Mike Brown will be able to play against the Golden Gophers on Saturday after spraining his non-kicking foot vs. Oklahoma State.

Florida Atlantic was also working on its game plan for Saturday's match up against Minnesota. Schnellenberger knows this week's game will challenge his young offense.

"They are a big team, probably the best defense we have played all season," he said.

The Owls and Gophers will kickoff at 8:30 p.m. EST from the Metrodome on Saturday.

The game can be seen on tape delay on Sun Sports TV, Sunday at 1 a.m.
