Now there's a big body for the Oline…

Does anyone have a scouting report on this guy?

Russo is not listed in the Rivals database. Maybe there's something in a local paper.
Toussaint is suppose to be a good one at TE. He have good size at 6'4 230.

owlsinsider, welcome to the board. Thanks for the update on the verbals.

What's interesting about this list is that with the exception of harmon, none of these guys appear on the "who's looking" list posted here.

The who's looking list is mainly from a recruiting database. In this case it's a Rivals database. Most colleges have about 300 kids in their watch list. They will contact the players and send "interest feel" forms to the athletes. When the kids go public, they normally list who contacted them via mail or phone call. Most of these kids NEVER sign with these schools. The schools use it as a measuring tool and the kids use it as a bargaining tool.

The verbal list is a little more tricky. Some have no intention of signing with the school. The pressure to sign by the coaches sometimes lead to the "OK" acceptance speech. The schools will then make sure the list is publicized for their benefit. This will make the undecided recruited athlete who never committed, get off the fence very quickly. On the down side to this the competition will pick up for the kid, by someone who never really recruited the kid. They just don't want the competition to have them. Example:UM,FSU and UF are major recruiting measureing sticks around the nation. "If you commit to them then you must be good, so I'll go after you too". Our comp is probably BCC,FAMU, FIU,UCF and even USF to a degree. I throw in USF because we haven't pulled anyone from them so far but we have recruited players from the other schools I've mentioned.

Who will stick with their committments? The NLI is a stressful day for all of us fans as well as the coaches.

Hope I wasn't too long winded with my take on this stuff. ;)

Good overview O.G. It is a long and stressful process full of competition. That is why recruiting is such an important part of the game. GO OWLS!!!
