Same song, 13th verse

Coach Partridge can "sugar coat" his explanations but the facts are clear and obvious. FAU has fallen far from the quality of play on the field when Rusty Smith was at the controls of the offense.  Why are the players committing penalties game after game? Are they not disciplined enough by the coaching staff to know what not to do? This is supposed to be FBS college football not High School football. Players that make mistakes need to be benched until they demonstrate they can not make stupid penalties that cost the team yardage. I remember when FAU played at Michigan State when a Spartan player committed a personal foul for hitting an FAU player out of bounds, Coach D. pulled the player by the face guard and read him "the riot act". That player sat out the rest of the game. That type of leadership by the coaching staff has not been at FAU since Coach Howard S. was head coach.  This game was FAU's swing game that they needed to win if they had any chance of going .500 on the season. Like the Wyoming game last year, this game was winnable and FAU again let the opposition back in the game. A bitter defeat!!!
