FAU NEEDS YOU

I am askeing everyone, please email president Brogan at [email protected] to reconsider haveing the Ying Yang Twins. The group does curse alot but they said they would clean it up. Regardless, this group will bring people to the game that normally dont go. We need the attendence or we dont move up to 1A. I think that the view of a few people should not hold back the univerisities move. The positive FAR excede the cons. I just got word the they can be rescheduled to play at the FIU game if enough of a fus is raised to president brogan. Angelos wants the group to play so dont bother emailing him, it has to go straight to Brogan. we can still pull it off but we need all of you to email Brogan often and with as many email addresses as you have. Im not fond of the group but I do know they can draw a croud, im doing it for the future of FAU. I hope you all will help, if they were good enough to play at president Bush's enaguration four years ago they should be able to play at our half time show.

FAU NEEDS YOU

Middle Tennessee State president Sidney McPhee is a member of the NCAA Board of Directors, which is scheduled to review the rule for minumum attendance at its Board of Directors meetings.

Five teams out of 117 Division I-A schools, not counting FAU or FIU, currently average less than 15,000 per game, including Middle Tennessee State, which averaged 13,388 fans this season.

Do you really think the MTSU president will vote in favor of a rule that would drop his school out of Division I-A? Not a chance.

I would love to see FAU hit the 15,000 mark, and I still think we have a shot to reach it, but I don;t think you can say without the Ying Yang twins we have no chance of drawing the minumum.

Plus do you realy want to hang our I-A future on the Ying Yang twins? Now that's scary!

President of the No Homers Club. Keepin' it real since 2001.

This is exactly why the 15,000 rule likely will not stand much longer. It's an arbitrary number that many believe will not hold up to a court challenge. Besides, if we don't hit the number this year, we will next year with a mostly I-A schedule featuring Oklahoma State and FAMU.

And I agree that while the concert would have boosted attendance somewhat, this same stunt has been tried before with underwhelming success. I know that both FIU and MTSU both held concerts at one of their games this year, and I don't think either time did they hit 15,000.

FAU NEEDS YOU

Lets not define the future of this program because of the Ying Yang incident. This program will survive, maybe it's time like these that they and I mean the athletic department, need to look at themselves and have a reality check. They at times have not grown with the success that the football program and the jump to the 1-A level has brought us - they need to take a hard look at where we are and where we want to go.

I for one was hoping that we have that perfect season, for the sole reason that we needed it to acheive that 15,000 avg. mark. All is not lost if we don't make it this year, if we start thinking like that, then what this program has been able to achieve is all but lost.

I say let us focus on the two games we have left and enjoy this team and group for what they have brough us. Lets enjoy the moment and embrace the final moments we have with this team and let us not tarnish the success this program has been able to achieve becuase of the attendance issue - it is out of the players control at this point - they did their part, now is the time to express our appreciation for what they brought us.

Go Owls & thank you!!

i was glad to heart that the yin yang twins were cancelled. i'm a fan of hip hop, but i'm planing to go to the FAU / FIU game and i want to have a good time. i don't want a bunch of high school kids, who are getting in for free, who have no interest in the game to pack the stadium. i'm a teacher and i can tell you right now the mess that would cause. i'd rather have another year of transition. plus as mentioned above i don't think the rule will last, as well as our hurricane argument huring attendence.

I dont care who shows up right now as long as they fill seats. I dont like the Ying Yang Twins but I know the younger crowd does.

At least the attendance number has increased by a few thousand from last year, and with this years success and next years schedule, we should increase the attendance again by a few thousand average. I think that's the key, keep growing the fan base. They should get rid of the attendance numbers, besides the handful of teams that havent hit the number, there are many other who have had to sell home games to reach the number, and I'm sure the committee will look at that as well.
