Owls are Eyeing Up the Indians
Sun Belt play begins Thursday

BOCA RATON,FL – The quest for the Sun Belt Conference championship will begin on Thursday when Florida Atlantic University hosts Louisiana Monroe at Lockhart Stadium.

A short week of preparation forced the Owls to accelerate their practice routine. On Tuesday FAU focused on team drills while implementing its game-plan for the Indians.

Freshman wide receiver Cortez Gent impressed the coaching staff with his ability to get open, catching seven balls on the day.

The Owls are very excited about playing their first conference foe of the season. "Our goal coming into the season was to win the conference," head coach Howard Schnellenberger said.

Both Florida Atlantic University (0-3) and Louisiana-Monroe (0-3) will be playing in their second Thursday night game of the season.

The Owls and Indians will kickoff at 7:30 pm. The game will be televised on ESPNU. It can also be heard on the Owls Radio Network, WLVJ-1040 AM and WPSL-1590 AM.
