FAU Owls fans and White Plains, NY? Someone get a videotape!!!
Apparently, local Public Access (we are moving up in the world, aren't we?) sportscaster, Johnny Vorperian, who hosts his own show, "Beyond the Game" each Friday night at 10 p.m. is this coming Friday interviewing Franz Joseph and Jervonte Jackson about their experience with the TEST Sports Performance program run by one Brian Martin in preparing them for this weekend's upcoming NFL Draft.
The show will air on local cable channel 76 and Verizon Fios channel 45.
Any Owls out there know anyone in White Plains?!
By the way, Joseph was a 2008 Lombardi Award Preliminary Watch List selection and, from the linebacker position, grabbed the single-season FAU record for tackles – a number which also landed him as the Sun Belt's top tackler in 2007.
Here's what NFL Draft Scout had to say about Joseph:
An intense, physical three-year starter who made 154 tackles (84 solo) in 2008 when he earned first-team all-Sun Belt honors for the second consecutive year. He had 131 tackles in 2007. His 13 tackles in the 2008 Motor City Bowl against Central Michigan demanded attention from scouts. Joseph redshirted at Boston College in 2004, then transferred home to help his mother with finances. At his Feb. 26 pro day, Joseph had a best time of 4.83 seconds in the 40. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
Jackson, in the meantime, is a previous Second-Team All-Sun Belt Selection, and came into last season with a string of 36 consecutive starts.
Here's what Sports Illustrated had to say about Jackson:
POSITIVES: Productive college defender with solid upside for the next level. Gets off the snap with a quick first step, immediately changes direction, and displays a closing burst of speed. Works his hands to get off blocks, fluid moving laterally, and chases the action to the flanks.
NEGATIVES: Lacks strength on the inside and easily controlled at the point of attack by a single blocker. Immediately gets tall out of his stance, does not play with leverage, and makes himself an easy target for opponents.
ANALYSIS: Jackson lacks the size and fundamentals to be anything other than a backup at the next level. He could find a home as a three-technique lineman if he learns to play with better pad level.
PROJECTION: Free Agent
GET ON IT OWLS!!!
