FAU’s 1st Annual 7-on-7 Tournament
Live from the Oxley Center today as Florida Atlantic hosts its first annual 7-on-7 tournament.
10 Teams have made the travel to campus to compete in the competition and some schools have made quit the drive. A few Orlando area high schools, Evans and Freedom have made the trip as well as Saint Cloud. Mulberry High School from Polk County is here along with some local high schools in North Broward Prep, West Boca and John L Leonard.
Former defensive coordinator Kirk Hoza has returned to campus and is coaching with Calvary Christian High School. Interesting little home coming with that.
Lots of FAU players have been throwing the ball around on the field, but the most notable individual is former Owl and now NFL quarterback Rusty Smith. Smith looks great and was talking with current FAU starting quarterback Jeff Van Camp on the sidelines.
FAU coaches are running the whole event this afternoon and will hope to evaluate and find some talent today.
Check back later as we will be providing updates throughout the day.
