FEARLESS PREDICTIONS WEEK EIGHT FAU @ ASU
Week Eight is upon us and FAU is back in action after sitting out last week. Hopefully the week off will result in improved play and improved confidence as the Owls visit the Red Wolves. Here are my Fearless Predictions for this week.
10/23 Louisiana (Lafayette) vs Western Kentucky
This game is really only intriguing in order to see if Western Kentucky will final get a win since moving up to the FBS division. WKU has lost 26 straight. ULL should win this one and improve to 3-2 in SBC play. However, always the optimist and fan of the underdog, I will take WKU in this one.
Fearless Prediction:
Western Kentucky 24
Louisiana (Lafayette) 21
10/23 Middle Tennessee vs. Louisiana Monroe
In an important conference matchup MTSU hosts ULM. MTSU stands at 1-1 in the SBC and ULM at 2-1 in the SBC. MTSU comes into this one after back to back losses that saw the Blue Raiders outscored 84-27. MTSU has a balanced attack and the Blue Raiders are statistically better than ULM in most categories. This is a home game for MTSU and a must win if they hope to keep in the hunt for a bowl bid and a possible SBC title. MTSU needs to shut down ULM QB Kolton Browning. He leads the Warhawks in passing and rushing. Taking him out of the game will all but guarantee an MTSU victory. MTSU rides the home field advantage and comes away with this one.
Fearless Prediction:
Middle Tennessee 28
Louisiana Monroe 20
10/23 Florida Atlantic @ Arkansas State
The Owls have struggled this season going 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the SBC. However, the SBC losses were by a combined 7 points. FAU has the tools to compete. The Owls simply need to limit mistakes and get improved play from the offensive line. RB Alfred Morris has improved his production the past couple of weeks and the FAU defense has been good enough to win. Fortunately for FAU they visit Jonesboro, Arkansas after having a week off to prepare for the Red Wolves. ASU QB Ryan Alpin has been excellent so far this season. However, his success is in part the result of a fairly one dimensional offense for ASU. The Owls are going to have to make plays early and get the momentum on their side to begin the game. The FAU secondary will also have to play well for FAU to come away with a win.
Fearless Prediction:
Florida Atlantic 21
Arkansas State 20
This is also a big week for games with national title implications. It all starts tonight with #2 Oregon playing host to UCLA (Fearless Prediction Oregon). #6 LSU visits #4 Auburn (Fearless Prediction Auburn), #13 Wisconsin plays at #15 Iowa (Fearless Prediction Wisconsin), #16 Nebraska plays at #14 Oklahoma State (Fearless Prediction Nebraska), and #1 Oklahoma plays at #11 Missouri (Fearless Prediction Oklahoma). It is a good weekend for college football.
Sit back and enjoy a full Saturday of great games.
