Football Practice Notes Tuesday, Dec. 1st...

For the Owls, Tuesday was a big day at practice. The team began its final week of preparation for the 2009 season. The countdown is on for 16 seniors’ and their final game wearing an FAU uniform.

The game, titled the ‘Shula Bowl’, will feature visiting Florida Atlantic at FIU and will air on Comcast Cable’s CSS beginning at 7 p.m.

FAU holds the all-time series record at 6-1, but few have forgotten the 57-50 overtime game a year ago.

The day began with punt drills and ended with field goal drills.

Defensively, Erick McIntosh started the day with an interception. Moments later, freshman David Hinds got into the action with an interception and Tony Rodriguez soon followed.

Offensively, the day’s work ended with back-to-back touchdown scores by Jamari Grant and Chris Bonner. Practice ended much like it began with special teams.

FAU will return to the practice field at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the FAU Tom Oxley Center practice fields.

Upcoming Events

Thursday, December 3 Radio Show

Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger will be featured on the FAUSportspage which will be carried on ESPN760 and via the internet at www.fausports.com. Miller’s Ale House, 1200 Yamato Road, will serve as host.
