Forget the previous smack...this is the real deal from HS...

Let's be real here…i think he is right…

"We are delighted that university of Texas and Mack Brown have given us the opportunity to play the flagship program in the state of Texas.

They are a first class, top of the line program that play with a great deal of enthusiasm and great deal of sportsmanship high level of professionalism and I don’t expect that to change at all.

I am expecting a hard-hitting, knockdown, drag-out fight between two ambitious football teams.

I am hoping we can knock the ball loose from them more than they can knock it loose from us, and we can intercept the ball more than they intercept off from us, hope our special teams can find an edge and produce a touchdown and if those things happen we might have enough offense to eek out a win.

A 1-point win would be tantamount to total success for a week and put us in great position for the following week.

A 21-points loss is probably what is to be expected. Obviously we don’t expect that. We have to be prepared for whatever the eventual outlay of the contest is. As long as we fight the good fight from opening kick to closing whistle then we will have succeeded in our mission: Experience, exposure and financial gain

Nice sentiment, but too bad this will never see the light of day outside the local papers.  The "previous smack" is out there, it's sexier, in your face, and it's bigger news than this.  Whether what HS said before is what he meant is irrelevant.  If it bleeds, it leads.

Bottom line is this game means way more for Texas. A loss for Texas would be devastating. A loss for FAU is what most people expect. Texas really has everything to lose and nothing to gain. All of the pressure is on them.

As coach said, 'experience, exposure, and financial gain' are what FAU walks away with win or lose. At this stage in the development of the program all of those things are very important. The nice thing is that they are all guaranteed.

GO OWLS!!!
