Fox Sports - Prediction
Why Florida Atlantic might win: The defense has done a solid job the last two weeks holding Oklahoma State to 23 points, achieved mostly off turnovers, and kept Cowboy QB Donovan Woods to 46 passing yards. The Owls were beating Kansas late in the third quarter before finally succumbing. QB Danny Embick hooked up on a couple of huge pass plays against Kansas, and he should be able to bomb away on a Minnesota secondary allowing 290 yards per game so far.
Why Minnesota might win: Florida Atlantic has no running game whatsoever and a suspect run defense. Minnesota and it's third ranked rushing attack should have few problems hitting the 300-yard mark, while the run defense that has allowed 194 yards so far, won't let the Owls hit the century mark.
Who to watch: Minnesota should be happy after its rocking start, but it isn't considering it wants everything to be clicking before the Big Ten starts. The passing game has been inconsistent at best, and ugly at worst. QB Bryan Cupito has only completed 50% of his passes and hasn't been able to find his touch on the deep ball. Of bigger concern is the kicking game after placekicker Jason Giannini got an extra point blocked and missed two others against Colorado State.
What will happen: Minnesota will win, but it still won't be happy. The Owl defense is good enough to keep this from being a brutal blowout.
Line: Minnesota -31.5
Must See Rating: (5 lock yourself in a room to watch - 1 Dancing with the stars) … 2
