Future Schedule

I found this in the Miami Herald thought it was rather interesting as far as some future home games for us -

Florida International has added its first football home game against a team from a marquee conference: Maryland in 2007. (FIU will play at the Terrapins in 2006.) Meantime, FAU – which will play Oklahoma State on Sept. 8 at Dolphins Stadium – has booked home games vs. Minnesota (2007) and Michigan State (2010).

Future Schedule

Over the past year or so, I have grabbed snippets from one place or another. Things change, of course, but this is an up-to-date list of what I have captured. It is worthy of speculation, if nothing else. Remember, some may already be outdated and all are subject to change. (With the newly-authorized 12th game for 2006 and beyond, I have a feeling that future skeds for a lot of teams may be bouncing around for quite some time).

With a full SBC schedule every year it certainly help bring some kind of consistency into the scheduling - as far as the OC games those look like some nice games.
Another teams that is going to be thrown in the mix, at least from what I have been hearing, FSU will be on the schedule in the near future as well, not sure on the dates ( possible 2008 ). - I thought Alabama was in the mix as well.

Like you said things do change.

Bytor, I had seen mention of FSU and Bama, too, but never with a year associated with it. Your info about FSU, possibly in 2008, really is great news. The Bama web site shows FIU next year, but doesn't offer much beyond that.

Bowden has the greatest of respect for Howard, so I can see that the FSU game will happen - I don't know how concrete that date is, but I'm sure that it will happen, it'll be a matter of when.

I have also heard that S. Carolina might be a possibility in the near future.

By the way, Jim Howell's excellent and early, early look at the tentative 2006 skeds for all of IA (as much as has been semi-confirmed) is at the link below. Don't miss the text at the bottom mentioning some match-ups for which even tentative dates have not been set. As always, expect these to bounce around. Even so, it's fun to speculate:

I remember reading something about FSU as early as 2006 or 07 and a possibility of Miami by 2008. It was some time last year. Of course the older you get you start hearing all kinds of stuff.

I realize that so much can happen, but it fun to just been able to talk about playing these top school, to actually play them bring about a lot of excitment - just think what the players feel like, to be in a position to play against the top teams - good stuff.

Talon, I know what you mean about it being harder to remember the older one gets. Just this morning, I put the top down on my T-Bird (here in Colorado Springs at 6,600 feet), and I could have sworn I heard me wife say 'Grow up.' In any case, I am pretending I don't remember that.

Now that you mention the Miami and FSU items, I think I remember reading about those, too. Perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised with a great 11th or 12th game in 2006, and beyond.

Bama and Auburn will play I-AAs every year, and now pretty much all of the Florida schools … but not Troy! (And Troy has tried.)
