Gotta LOVE Media Mixups...

I love this media mixup from "Washington Evening Journal." For the first two paragraphs they screw up which players play for which teams! ::)

"Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Patrick Cobbs rushed for 142 yards on 27 carries as the Florida Atlantic Owls held off the North Texas Mean Green, 26-23, in a Sun Belt Conference battle at Dolphins Stadium.

Florida Atlantic (2-8, 2-5 SBC) quarterback Daniel Meager completed 7-of-18 passes for 49 yards with an interception before leaving the game due to injury. Backup Matt Phillips filled in nicely as he completed 8-of-16 pass attempts for 138 yards with a touchdown. Phillips rushed for a touchdown as well.

North Texas (2-7, 2-3) was led by Sean Clayton who completed 13-of-22 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. Joel Nwigwe was Clayton's favorite receiver with 117 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. DiIvory Edgecomb rushed for 118 yards on 18 carries for the Mean Green."

The rest of the article is correct however, and the full article is at the below site…

Good, good, but not nearly as good as this one……

Newspaper apologizes for caption on Web site

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) ?
A newspaper apologized and fired a copy editor for posting an online photo of a girls? soccer team that suggested one of the players was a lesbian.
The Immaculate High School team was celebrating a goal scored in a championship game Nov. 5. But the caption on the Web site of The News-Times said the team was celebrating a teammate?s decision to ??come out of the closet as a lesbian.??
??It was a flagrant, awful violation of every journalistic principle,?? said Paul Steinmetz, the paper?s editor. ??It?s just embarrassing to us and untenable.??
The copy editor, who was not identified, was ??goofing around?? and did not realize the caption had gone online, Steinmetz said. The bogus caption stayed on the Web page for a few hours on Sunday and received a few hundred hits, he said.
The newspaper, which has a circulation of about 33,000 in western Connecticut, is training more employees to administer its Web site so future errors can be fixed promptly, Steinmetz said.
