I know it's early but we can still peek at what they have coming back so far.

FAU has absolutely no chance of winning the game. I predict a score of 56-3.

Must of us don't expect to pull out a victory against KU, FAU has a lot of uncertainties that hopefully we can get a better grip on,as to where this young team is during fall. Our inexperience will undoubtfully be our biggest concern going into the season opener with KU.

I do look for us to be well prepared as team - even with a perfect game plan and execution with may still need some luck to even have a chance. The experience this team will get from this game will only benefit us, may not be evident this year, but will be show cased in the next couple of years.

If that's your point spread, I'll take it.

This is undoubtedly true. With a young team, however, you do face the risk of hurting their confidence with a real good beating ;)

I think Kansas was poorly scheduled for your team, because Kansas has a very good defense. I think it would be better to play a team you can score some points on to gain confidence for further games, especially your in conference games.

Nonetheless, I'm sticking by my prediction. I will also predict that FAU will not reach 100 yards by the end of the first half. I'll come back to eat crow if I'm wrong.

The QB alone, will have 40 by the end of the 1st half. If the O-Line breaks down, he's gone!!

It will be an interesting test out the gate. Maybe Kansas will take us lightly.. 8-)

The problem I see with two mobile QB's as oppose to a pocket passer like Allen, they will need to be patient and let the play develop before taking off - Embick tends to take-off early sometimes. It does give us a chance to move the ball even though the play may be broken.

If "Vick Jr." improves during Fall he will be fun to watch.

Ku has had some luck stopping mobile QBs - Brad Smith, in particular, from Missouri - much touted and he is very mobile. We always seem to have his number. Vince young from Texas we had pretty much shut down until the end of the game when our LB failed to shadow him, which allowed Young to get the first down on fourth and long. Our defensive ends are fast, as are our linebackers, who can contain scramblers.

Curt has is exactly right. Kansas will have no trouble containing a quarterback from FAU. No offense meant, but if they contained Vince Young for most of a game at home, they will easily do the same with any FAU quaterback.

No offense taken. But I do have to add this note. When a play breaks down and QB's have to scramble it has nothing to do with which school you attend. It's all about athleticism at that point. Is he better than Young. Probably not. Will he make the same moves to avoid the tackle as Young? Probably not. So even though he goes to FAU he may make the DE and LB's miss just the same or even more than Young. I know it's a team sport but individual talent emerges when the athlete have the ball and have to make decisions during running or passing. It's like the point guard in basketball. If you can dribble and shake a defender to set up the shot, it doesn't matter if you played at Sienna College or North Carolina. The individual talent will shine if it's there sooner or later.
As a team you guys are supposed to dominate the game. You are bigger and more seasoned than we are. We just want to keep it respectable at best.

PS: About athleticism.
I'll go on record as saying one of the best draft choices this year will be WR Vincent Jackson from Northern Colorado. A little DII / AA school from Greeley Colorado. Big with decent speed. His yards after the catch(YAC) is what will separate him from other receivers from any school. Even the more established programs.

Now, If he flops this post will self destruct within two days… ;D ;D
