I am writing to you to make sure you have heard that the FAU Fighting Owls Football Team has opened their 2004 season with two great victories, both on the road.

Coach Schnellenberger?s Fighting Owls traveled to Honolulu two weeks ago and beat the University of Hawaii and their Heisman Trophy Candidate Quarterback, 35-28, in a thrilling overtime win.

Then, last Saturday night they beat the three-time Sun Belt Conference Champions, the University of North Texas, 20-13.

In addition, I wanted to remind you that the Palm Beach County Sports Commission will play a big part in the pre-game festivities prior to the start of the First Home Game vs. Illinois State on Saturday, Sept. 25th beginning at 4 pm at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale. All Friends of the PBCSC are being offered prime sideline seats at the special rate of ($20) per seat. The Chief Executive of each company purchasing 10 or more seats will also receive 2 passes to the pre-game VIP Celebration with FAU President Frank Brogan, Coach Schnellenberger and a number of the great-name Quarterbacks and other high-profile players who have played for the Coach over the past 40 years. The Celebration will be in the air-conditioned VIP Tent in the northwest corner of the Stadium.
