Places to stay.

Hey guys,
Looking for some places to stay. I'm coming down for the Troy game.  What is  close to the stadium? Anything within walking distance?

Re: Places to stay.

There are hotels around the stadium…some close enough to walk to, I suppose.  Lockhart is in a mostly industrial area.

I guess it depends on how long you are staying.  If you are coming for a few days, you may want to find something on the beach…you'll have a better time with more to do.  If you are coming just for the game and leaving, your best bet may be the La Quinta that is maybe a half mile from the stadium.

Hey Hemi,

Definately look into the La Quinta. Its right on Cypress Creek road and is the only hotel I can think of thats walking distance. As 44 said, if you are coming for the weekend check out Lauderdale by The Sea, shouldnt be to expesnive and some of the MTUS folks stayed there last year.

Looking forward to the game!

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I would reccomend any hotel off oakland park in lauderdale…..

Not only is it close the game, but the night life is ….well quite amazing

You will feel at home walking around Oakland Park at night…..its very nice!

Re: Places to stay.

Maybe Bytor or someone can collect all this info and create a "Where to stay when coming in town for an FAU game" sticky for the Football thread...?

Re: Places to stay.

I, as always, will recommend the El Palacio hotel right on Commercial and I-95. You want convenience? The hotel sits, literally, ON the ramp to I-95. Want to party while you're in town? The El Palacio is your one stop shop for partying, I don't think there is a illegal substance you CAN'T buy at the "palace." And if the game doesn't go your way and you'd like the comfort of a lady to help ease the pain, they've got that covered too.

You can choose to stay at a "safe, clean and up to health code" type of hotel (one off Cypress Creek), or you can live a little, grab life by the horns and worry about that rash when you get back to Troy. The El Palacio, where we give you a penicillin shot BEFORE you check in.

That's great!

In all seriousness, if you just want a clean place to sleep the La Quinta on Cypress Creek Blvd is the closest and cheapest, something a little nicer just up Cypress Creek is the Sheraton.  If you stay for an extra day or two, stay on the beach tons of places in a wide variety of price ranges.

Do you have any idea how many might come down for the game, any talk of revenge this year?  Hope you bring a good crowd.

GO OWLS!
