Post Game Thoughts
From what I heard:
Defense - UGH! I know that Kentucky is the best offense we have faced, maybe ever, but to not get a single stop in the 1st half?? Just an ugly performance. Woodson is very good though. He'll be playing at the next level next year. The only bright spot was Polo getting another INT and ending Woodson's streak.
Offense - They actually moved the ball pretty well. With Rusty in the game, they made plays. The running game couldn't get much going, but that was expected. They did end with 111 total rusing yards. Clayton did a good job of running the ball, but was his usual self throwing. I'm not sure why they put him in though. Personally if they weren't going to let Rusty finish the game, I would rather have seen Van Camp get some significant action instead.
Special teams - They did a pretty good job. Whoever #39 is had 3 special teams penalties, which hurts. The returns were decent enough and Peterson sounded like he had a good game punting the ball.
Overall, it obviously didn't go as planned. Despite the almost complete lack of defense, it wasn't a complete disaster for most of the game. The big pass plays for TDs hurt, but it didn't sound like we were physically overmatched. I thought it was actually the best we have played one of these BCS road games. Lots of work to do, but i'm excited for next week. Having the game against USF at home is big. It won't be easy, but I think if we can move the ball, we have a chance. USF is very good, but I don't think they have the same explosive type of offense that UK has. Hopefully they come out and play the way they did coming off the OK State blowout.
For those of you who saw the game, how did the d-line replacements look? I know they didn't do much to get in the stat sheet, but were they getting pushed around out there? Putting any pressure on the QB?

Here are a couple of things that I can comment on:
1) Andre Woodson was unimpressive. He throws a lazy ball with way to much air under it and he played it safe most of the game. All of his TDs were to very open receivers in the end zone. He just had to toss it up and watch them catch it.
2) Rusty has some guts. He put the ball on a line in between multiple defenders on numerous occassions. He looked sharp despite not having great numbers.
3) Neither team tried to stretch the field. Most passes were either quick outs or quick slants.
4) The offense line looked solid in pass protection.
5) Coach has opened up the play book a bit. A beautiful reverse to start the game and a surprise hook and ladder to start the second half. Both were effective and fun to watch.
6) FAU can play with the big boys if they eliminate mistakes.

Where was Lester Jean? I didn't see him at all today, but the official stats list him as having 1 tackle.
Bobbled the pass that was intercepted

Aha, thanks. We were on our way out of Duffy's at that point.

I'm really REALLY glad Polo was the one to end Woodson's passing streak. ;D
