Sports Bars in Boca?

Sports Bars in Boca?

8 of us are heading down for the game on Saturday.  We're staying at the Embassy Suites in Boca (we realize the game is in Lauderdale).  Hoping you all could help with some recommendations on Sports Bars or good places to watch the late games on Saturday.  Thanks for your help.

Re: Sports Bars in Boca?

no particular order but the first is my favorite

Duffys (st. andrews and glades) ←-best place —-always packed
Ale House, theres two of them ,—busy places usually
(W. Glades right before Lyons)
(Yamato Rd just east of Military Rd)
Brus Room ←–packed
(In deerfield, but still really close to you, just take A1A south and you'll run right into it)
Dowtown Duck , ← great place if you don't like it too packed
(Royal Palm Plaza, right next to Mizner Park, they have awesome drink specials usually…..Glades or palmetto, head south on federal make a left at the emergency light, think its 2nd ave…..go straight you'll see fountain in middle of parking lot, park anywhere and you will find it in the corner of the plaza)
Draft House (Palmetto and Powerline) ←–hit or miss on this one, can be packed or can be dead

Re: Sports Bars in Boca?

Are you of student age or alumni age ??

Check out Duffy's - down the street from FAU or the Ale House - down the street from your hotel(Yamato Rd) . FAU is one exit south of your hotel. The students hang out at the Downtown Duck.

Check your green and gold at the door !!

Check out the FAU campus if you have time. It will remind you of USF on a smaller scale but a few miles from the beautiful beaches !

GO OWLS !!!!

Forget the ale house (they don't support us, we shouldn't support them). Duffy's is definitely a great place. You also have Hooters 1 exit north (Cypress Creek) on the west side of I-95.

Re: Sports Bars in Boca?

Thanks for the recommendations.  We all graduated in the mid 90's…so we're 30 somethings.  Funny that you ask about age.  The guys will be down for hanging out with the students but the wives will probably reel us back in.  I'm looking forward to coming down.  Howard has proven that he can build winning programs and there is no reason that FAU can not be successful.  I just hope you don't find a way to make us your signature win.

Re: Sports Bars in Boca?

Coach Schnellenberger's Original Steakhouse and Sports Theatre at turnpike/Glades is a great place to go, bonus with coaches name on the sign. Stay away from Downtown duck, that place is a ghost town and has no atmosphere. Wishing Well downtown is a lot better and is an Irish Pub with a live band always playing  on Saturday night. The draft beers there are pretty good also.

Coach Schnellenberger's Original Steakhouse and Sports Theatre- Boca Raton also has the most tvs I have seen in one sports bar. They are all over the place and most of them are huge screens, great for watching a number of games/sports at once.

Re: Sports Bars in Boca?

What type of scene are you looking for?  That could definitely redefine this list in a heartbeat.

Gatsby's on SW 18th Street has good eats and good beer, a tad pricier than the other places listed.  Decent amount of TV's, a pool hall and a great bar if you are a JETS or Giants fan on Sundays.
