The end of realignment?
Sure, the PAC10 may add one more team, possibly Utah, but it would appear that major changes are no longer likely. This may be the best possible scenario for FAU at this point. It gives us time to build our stadium and improve our other facilities enough to be a factor the next time conference realignment comes up in a few years. We may have just gotten a reprieve from being left out in the cold. FAU's administration has to get moving NOW on improving our standing so we don't miss out next time. This will come up again and we will not get another second chance.

I think it may cool down for now, but with the desire of a 16-team mega conference it still is probably on there 12-24 month plan.

Re: The end of realignment?
I think they will realize this and still add in two programs to get back to being the Big12 and that will set-off some more minor shifting to fill conference slots.
But it is probably good for FAU that the "rush" to re-align may have cooled and we won't get left back in the FCS, not yet UNLESS WE DON"T BUILD THE F…ing STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!

I could see FAU finding it's way into CUSA.

UCF Knight, I agree with you, now weather it is this July or next when the Big12 adds teams to replace the then departing Nebraska and possibly Colorado, they will probably draw at least one team from CUSA (Houston, Rice, Tulsa) who will then need their own replacement!
They are staying at 10….I wasn't talking about them.

Re: The end of realignment?
BUT how the BigTexasConference is going to pay for this deal (not legally binding, not one contract has been signed anywhere) who knows, especially with losing the premier program from the northern division AND losing the Denver media market AND losing the revenue from the conference championship game!
My opinion is simply that they will realize they need to remain at 12 teams minimum and will add programs to replace Nebraska and Colorado at the needed time. Then CUSA may lose a few programs and need to replace them or expand as well.
