Troy vs. FAU Prediction

Troy vs. FAU Prediction

Let us see.

Troy averages 38.75 points at home while only allowing an average of 11. The three sunbelt schools that played at Troy have each only scored 7 points. (Monroe, North Texas, Muts)

FAU's road conference games have produced three wins. FAU scores an average of 41 points and allows an average of 25 points.

Overall conference PPG and PA…

Troy  PPG 37 PA 11

FAU  PPG 35  PA 25

The projected score math wise would be like this…Troy 31  FAU 24

FAU has struggled all year with sunbelt opponents with the exception of FIU and I heard that all of the muts points were scored late. Thank you for beating those stinky muts by the way.

I know the games are played on the field and not on paper however I believe that this score is not accurate.

My prediction is… Troy 35   FAU  13

Re: Troy vs. FAU Prediction

This year it has been typical that we play up and down to our competition. If we can stop Haugabook on the run during the broken plays, and protect our QB with our starting center possibly out, I think it may be closer than you think.

FAU-24
Troy-21

FAU with a come from behind win.

Re: Troy vs. FAU Prediction

Who's the nations top running QB?  Tebow.  What did he do versus FAU rushing? 11 rushes for 31 yards.

If we can get Haugabook to be one dimensional and throw the ball (16 TD's 15 INT's), we have a good shot.

In the end, we want it more.

FAU 29
Troy 20

Re: Troy vs. FAU Prediction

I know this was posted by someone else in one of the other threads but every other school in the 'Belt uses the spread offense or has a running QB with a decent arm.

We don't use the spread offense and Rusty probably has the strongest arm in the 'Belt. Omar has a good arm and is quick on his feet but when it comes to arm strength I'll take Rusty. He has a cannon for an arm and an albeit weird delivery he gets rid of the ball quick and he can sling it in there.

I'd like to think we will win a close one and I'm going to say the team that scores first wins..

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Troy vs. FAU Prediction

If Omar gets all day to choose a receiver, he will check off to two or three or four of them and then maybe dump it to The Moose … or run. Troy's supposedly weak O-line has become a strength of the team this year. MTSU's celebrated pass rush got to Omar a few times last week, but he burned them a bunch, too.

FAU has to contain Omar better then it contained Grothe. Omar is much faster than Grothe and he doesn't go down easily.

Troy's pass defense is very good (Elbert Mack now has the naitonal INT lead). I think FAU wil try to run a bunch on Troy, whose run defense has been poor but has improved of late.

Re: Troy vs. FAU Prediction

I appreciate the Troy fan for coming here and starting a civil conversation, but if you're looking for someone to post that Troy will win, you've come to the wrong place….just as if I went to Troy's message board and asked for predictions, I'm sure I'd get all Troy wins.

If our defense can contain the running game, I really like our chances. FAU's offense is clicking pretty nicely right now and the defense looked very good against FIU, but then again who doesn't against that team? Keep Omar in the pocket and play solid against the run. Make him hurt us with his arm. I also think the Owls need to establish Charles Pierre early on. One thing that worries me is our kickoff coverage, pretty shaky against FIU. That must be shored up. GO OWLS!
