Looking into the review mirror and seeing things with an Owl?s perspective, with a very tough loss in the books, it leaves many Owl fans wondering what is to become of the rest of the season. With five games left, all conference games, to be played and somehow it may feel like the race might be over, no, not quite yet it isn?t. We all knew the next four games was going to be a challenge for the Owls? and going 4-0 during the toughest stretch of the SBC games on our schedule was going to be a difficult undertaking no matter what or how some felt about our chances would be. Just because we are no longer in the drivers seat doesn?t mean we are no longer on the right road to NO. Maybe the talks of NO where premature considering we have yet to find an identity within SBC play and only had played one conference game prior. During the first four games, the identity was evident, OVERMATCHED, and somehow we found some confidence with two W?s. Next time, let?s concentrate on each individual game and wait for most of the conference games to having been played (no less then 5 games) before any talk of a bowl game, it only becomes a distraction and adds pressure to a young teams struggling to find consistency.

Now, the pressure cooker is warming up. We just played a pressure type of game, a SBC game against the conference preseason favorite on national TV, in a defensive battle. The officiating crews deserve a YELLOW Flag for a very bad call(s) on the INT. The pressure will continue to build with every game for now they all become important.

What started as a bright spot and the result of success we recently found on offense, the OL, and WHAM, all of a sudden the strength of the offense has been diminished to crumbs. The good, we have extra days to make adjustments, the bad Brandon Jackson stupidity, the ugly the next three games with out Jackson & possibly Paris. I know I felt like this past game was going to develop into a slug feast, but instead developed into a great defensive type of game, much like the ASU game last year. I know that fans want scoring, but defensive games like the ULL game turned out to be a very good game to watch, if you could handle the turnovers we had, yet we where able to battle thru those set backs and put ourselves in position to win. Even with bad calls & turnovers which usually spells disaster, reference the first four games, we had our chances that we need to learn how to capitalize on, that is what this team is lacking so far on offense and what winning football is about.

So what would be a realistic goal for the next three games? Going 3-0 still alive and well, 2-1 need some assistance, 1-2 game over and the man law applies and we can consider this a rebuilding year.

The good, a lot of great football left to be played with three of them at home, the bad we lost to ULL, the ugly the alcohol ban in the parking lot at Lockhart.

Isn't this the second suspension for Jackson this year ? Anyone know why this time ?
I am sure there is someone more deserving to take over that position - can't afford to waste anymore time on someone who thinks the rules don't apply to them.

Considering we did not allow Babb to score a TD and with all the mistakes made by ALL - I still think we did pretty good. We only lost by 1 touchdown . The season is no way over. We just need to get our heads in the game. I have confidence we can go 3-0.

Hopefully a large boisterous crowd will help lead us to victory next week.

A three-game suspension for "violation of team rules" sounds a lot like someone failed a piss test to me.

President of the No Homers Club. Keepin' it real since 2001.

Interesting, isn't it, that Coach Schnellenberger has principles. A starter doing something detrimental to the team gets a three-game suspension.

At Miami, someone stomps on the back of the legs of an opponent who is down, and a bunch of other guys get into an on-field brawl. They get one-game suspensions.

I'm with Coach Schnellenberger. Team discipline is of paramount importance.

Grayowl, I would first like to say nice touch with the flag against the winter wonderland background. As for your post, 100% correct, I posted on the thread "Hangover" about the same thing. We had two starters from the OL out for the game Wednesday. You can't help it if you loose a guy to an injury, but there comes a time when these other issues you say enough is enough. It really doesn't matter if it's drugs, fighting, missing study hall or team meetings, at some point you grow up and become responsible. I know its tough, a lot of influence but these kids have got to look at themselves and see what they are doing and if it takes getting your butt kicked off the team and or out of school then I say BYE BYE.

Schnelly gives them more then enough of a chance to straighten up and if you are gong to be that stupid to throw it away then you are a cancer to the team and to the program. It is really a shame but it has happened before and as long as Schnelly is here it will continue to be this way he will not tolerate it and discipline will be harsh if need be. You would think that after Hill and some others they would get the picture but they don't and it makes you wonder how they got this far.

Talon, thanks for nice words about the picture. Sorry that I didn't see your earlier post. It has been a hectic morning. We were in Boulder to see our son's comedy show at the University of Colorado last night, then left in 4 inches of snow to drive to Breckenridge this morning (13 inches of snow). Should be a great ski season….
