We're officially a D-I program

In case you missed it, cornerback Willie Hughley has been accused of punching a female student. Nothing like a little aggravated battery to give the program instant Division-I credibility.

Colorado's got nothing on us.

ROTFLMAO!!

I wouldn't think anything of it if I was you guys.

If only you guys knew what kind of crap Tennessee State Asylum for the Criminally Insane (AKA Tennessee State University) has done over the past few years, you'd think that your guys are members of a church choir!

And tscc sponsors Division 1-AA football.

Here's a couple of links to some pretty old articles that will give you a better idea of just how bad it has been at tscc in the past.

This is not the worst that L.C. Cole has done at tscc.

Here is something on Nolan Richardson–the men's basketball coach.

They are still under investigations by the NCAA and are still reeling from the aftermath of L.C. Cole's reign of terror and lawlessness in the football program as well as the incident involving the head coach of their men's basketball team, Nolan Richardson.

L.C. Cole brought Hell on Earth at Division 1-AA Alabama State when he got the job as head coach there after being dismissed at Tennessee State.

Here's an article on that episode:

Oh yeah, back to talking about tscc, they had one really corrupt athletic director. Check out this article from 1999 after their AD was fired from her job:

I am reserving judgment on this one, will we ever know the hole story probably not, but I believe the AD & Coaches will do what is right as far as discipline.
It's rathers sad though, he is one of our best Defensive player & leader on the team. I have met him several time, once at the UCF game in Orlando & at the Award Banquet this year, I was fortunate to be sitting at the same table with him & his family. He is a great kid, always has a smile on his face with great sense of humor.

Hopefully this get worked out quickly.

BluePride, this is a minor incident compared to many, many others, you just hate seing it happen to your own program I suppose. We sometimes forget these kid are very yound and not perfect. This doesn't not in anyway
excuse the act however. Great articles by the way.

Yes, you are.

Nothing can compare to what happened to the University of Alabama-Birmingham a couple of years back.

There was a huge sex scandal alledgedy involving some 26 UAB football players and basketball players who were having sexual relations with a 15-year old girl who was recruited academically by the university because of her high ACT score.

I don't know if you guys remember hearing about that, but that story was about as shocking and disgusting as any I have ever heard.

I don't know whatever came about in that situation, but it made national headlines and damaged UAB's reputation right during that season they stunned LSU.

Very very sick story that one was. I seriously doubt any college in this country could ever match that disgusting saga at UAB.

IT was simple battery a misdemeanor…which means probably
some form of probation or community service. It helps that She slapped him BEFORE he hit her.

If I were hughley , id worry more about what Coach Schnellenburger will do to him especially if some womens group gets hot under the collar about it.

You keyed in on something voss749. The article says she slapped him 1st. But it also said he pushed her, she slapped him and then he punched her.

Inside sources says that they argued and she somehow touched him which he retaliated by pushing her away from him.

Schnell would have some heat from this one just because of the Colorado and UM situations currently in the news .

Provoked or not, I don't like the fact that he punched her regardless. Anytime emotions are high like that, stupid stuff usually happens and do things you sometimes regret.

IMO, he'll propably get a game suspension or maybe some community service work.

I agree with that. My comment about the provocation is based on the law, which the arbitrator will probably consider as he pass sentencing.

I've always taught mine to walk away.
It's hard sometimes but you really need to restrain yourself, especially when a female is involved. That's a definite low move.

Hope Willie will learn from this one.
