The football team held a spirited practice on Wednesday in preparation for its game against Sun Belt foe North Texas this Saturday.

The offense provided two highlight reel worthy plays during the afternoon session.  Travis Jones made a touchdown run against the defense that included several cutbacks and changes of direction. Rusty Smith also hooked up with Jamari Grant, who is slated to return to action Saturday much ahead of the previously announced schedule, on a long completion down on the middle of the field.

The team will practice at 3:30PM EST on Thursday at the FAU Track Facility in efforts to simulate game day conditions, as North Texas plays it's contests on an artificial surface.

Of note:

Florida Atlantic University senior quarterback is listed no. 14 nationally among all quarterbacks with a minimum of 750 pass attempts in lowest career interception percentage (INT%). Smith has a 2.72 INT%.

Familiar opponents include Central Michigan’s Dan LeFevour, 2.22 INT%, Colt McCoy, 2.87 INT% and statistical leader Tim Tebow at 1.70 INT%.

WR Cortez Gent, OL Lavoris Williams and DE Daniel Joseph all returned to practice on Wednesday.
