Wednesday, Sept. 16th Practice Notes...Good News for D-Line...

The football team wrapped up Wednesday’s practice with enthusiasm.

The day began with kick and kick return drills and moved into individual work. The team then installed the run packages and worked on defending the run in one and twos versus the scout teams. The lines also worked inside drills before the practice moved into 7-on-7 and team drills.

Junior quarterback Jeff Van Camp had an impressive scramble.

The day ended with field goal kicking with the kickers using the narrow goal post.

Coach Schnellenberger’s comments:

“The flu epidemic is at an all-time high. We don’t worry about the ones that we know about now. The ones that come down today or tomorrow are the ones I’m worried about. Right now Lester Jean and Jason Harmon are on the shelf. They will be back for tomorrow’s practice. Alfred (Morris) is still not doing well but he insists that he practice. I don’t think that will set him back. We have a lot of injuries back. (Jamere) Johnson will work today. Mauricio (Riquer) will work more. He has been practicing but is sore after each practice. (Andy) Czuprynski is back and looks really good.

“We need to put together another good practice together like we did yesterday. Then finish up Thursday and Friday.”
