Twin WRs, DB Visit

The last few weeks have produced a swarm of unofficial visitors for FAU football, and Thursday was no different. South Ft. Myer's OL Joe Gold committed to the Owls after touring campus with his parents, but he wasn't the only prospect in Boca Raton.

A trio of recruits from Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg made the trip across the state to meet with FAU's coaching staff. DB Brujoun "BJ" Bonner, WR Andrew Davis and WR Adrian Davis were all on hand to tour the facilities and see what the Owls had to offer.

"I loved it, I want to go back," Adrian Davis said in a message.

Adrain and his brother Andrew are twin wide receivers who are claiming offers from Toldeo, Ball State, FIU and Middle Tennessee State. Adrian (pictured right), who says he's an inch taller than his brother at 6-foot-4, has also been offered by Iowa State. Together the two form a pass-catching duo that creates mismatches for opposing defenses.

Bonner (pictured middle) is holding nine offers, and was offered by the Owls earlier this month. He was FAU's main recruiting target during the group's unofficial visit, and it appears that things went well.

"I had a chance to meet some coaches on defense, and got to visit the football field and locker room. We toured the dorms to see how they look. I also talked to coach DeWitt about where I would play on defense, and he said if I go there I would have a chance to play as a true freshman," Bonner said.

Bonner projects as a safety and could also line up in the nickel package. FAU already has six verbal commitments for the 2014 recruiting class including two defensive backs in Jack Walz and Jake Stoshak. The Davis brothers are expected to camp in July in hopes of gaining an offer.

Great work as always.

If Bonner commits that will be 4 DBs so far in this class. You said projects as safety… is Stoshak also projected as a safety?

That would be three DBs by my count. (Walz, Stoshak and Bonner)

Stoshak projects as a safety along with Walz. Bonner could play both positions.
