3 things the Burrow needs to become a Div 1 Facility
- Fans
- Money
- Bulldozer
In that order because without 1 and 2, we have no need for 3. Sad but true.
On a positive note, I believe our football stadium is better than UCF's…my opinion only.

I've been to both for FIU games. They're very similar venues. I like your seats better. Even though they're basically benches, they're better than the metal benches at UCF. Concessions seem about the same as theirs. I do like that theirs is a complete bowl. I'd say they're about the same with FAU being a little nicer aesthetically - lots of color and the FAU logo in the seats is a nice touch.
The Burrow is a glorified high school gymnasium. US Century Bank Arena (FIU) is not far off.

I agree with everything you stated except the glorified high school gym part. From where I come from, it is not even up to that level.
I think FIU and FAU are in the same boat for their basketball arenas. We both renovated and they are both "lipstick on a pig" IMO. I think ours is cleaner and yours has better potential with it's internal structure. But I think both should be leveled.
We both have the same issues from a fan base and moving the programs forward. What separates FIU/FAU from the real mid-major programs is that we all want to wait until we have a championship team before we decide to give the support (I am talking in general as an overall fan base). Where the programs that are really mid-majors, like the Butlers. the Daytons…their fan bases have jumped on board with the support to drive and create the programs that they have currently.
That's not an indictment on our fan bases, but just a fact of where we are in our process of building our programs IMO.

It would be easier to make an argument for a new basketball arena if we had more success leasing out the stadium. I think in the two years since it's opened we've had, what, 5 non-football events in there? Two Easter Sunday sermons, two soccer games and a lacrosse game (am I missing anything? Not counting things like the debate because that was FAU using their own facility, not somebody else paying to use it)
If they could get that up to even 10 non-football events a year, more like they had planned, they'd be doing a better job of paying it off and see the potential of a basketball arena which could also be rented out and affords you the option of indoor events. Remember they wanted to have conferences, Disney on Ice, etc
This is a huge part of the puzzle that we probably don't talk about enough. Not only is it good for earning FAU money, it also improves our reputation among students and the community by offering more things to do on campus. We really, really need to improve in this area.

Agreed. Take a look. The Cajun dome hosted WWE Monday Raw. Plus concerts, and such. FAU new arena can be a draw for events like that, plus events like graduation.Owl2Doc said
My feeling on a new arena is 10k seats or don't bother… so I imagine it's going to be some time before that's warranted.

I rather FAU investing part of that budget on fixing the baseball stadium because after reading that article from the UP all I can say is the way baseball has been treated at FAU has been pathetic.
This is off topic, where can I get a sticker like this one?

The problem with US Century Bank Arena is that it has a beautiful entry/lobby…then you have to go into the arena. Dark…no atmosphere etc. Never a good thing when your foyer is nicer than your living room. Maybe it's phase I?

don't know, but WKU and ULM have really nice basketball arenas with 8K seats only and they look awesome.
