riley commits - i think

according to scout.com freddie riley has committed to FAU. He's only a two star recruit but I did find this on rivals on him. you can't cut and paste so I'll write what they say.

"The most productive player of the day, Riley put up huge scoring numbers in all three of his games. Both off the catch and off a number of  dribble moves in both directions, riley poured in points. A definite high-major prospect, Riley just has some work to do int he classroom in order to qualify. If he can't make it happen in the classroom, he willhave his pick of junior colleges in the country"

sounds promising.

Re: riley commits - i think

…because scout usually only shows one school after they make a verbal to the school. Otherwise they show every school he's interested in or has interest.

Do you know if he has? any other info?

i know he is very light and is pretty athletic…he's a player thhat just came into his own recently…i wouldnt call him proven…but he has upside…

hes not Dre', but he has a natural stroke…

no inside info, only this perspective to offer:

no one is recruiting him yet from what i can tell aside from us…but the articles that you eluded to will only go to support the fact that the "combine" popularity will begin soon with him…

in other words, alot of coaches catch eye after a "hot playing run" and its the kid in the candy store mentality…then the athlete gets alot of interest and suddenly becomes a hot commodity…i highly doubt FAU is the only school after him after the last game he had…

Re: riley commits - i think

this kid is legit, read on, number one in the entire camp.

Our Florida Editors Jim Clark and Rick Staudt attended the Nike Team Florida Workout this past weekend in Clearwater, FL and they came away impressed with the play from both Saturday, which was restricted to the classes of 2008 and 2009, and Sunday, which featured sophomores and freshmen.  The top 20 performers from Saturday were 1) 6’5 Freddie Riley from Ocala (Vanguard) FL who shot tremendously all day long; 2) 6’7 Jr Emery Kelley from Jackson (Provine) MS, a tremendous scorer and rebounder inside; 3) 6’10 Kenny Kadji from Bradenton (IMG) FL, a Florida commit that scored at will inside and showed he could step out and knock down mid-range shots; 4) 6’7 Jr Rakeem Buckles from Miami (Monsignor Pace) FL, who showed surprising ball-handling skills and the ability to finish in traffic; 5) 6’3 Jr Greg Gantt of Gainesville (HS) FL, with his ability to knock down open jumpers and play without the basketball; 6) 6’4 Luke Loucks from Clearwater (HS) FL, a Florida State commit with exceptional court vision and passing skills; 7) 6’5 Jr Darrick Brown of Orlando (University) FL with his strong frame, attack mentality, and improving jump shot; 8) 6’10 Adam Pegg from Clearwater (HS) FL, a strong insider who can score with either hand; 9) 6’2 Jr Shamon Cox of St. Petersburg (Lakewood) FL, a player that can create his own shot from anywhere on the court; 10) 6’3 Jr Darren Stewart of Miami (Pace) FL, a slasher that displayed an improving jumper; 11) 6’6 Jr Callum Townsed from Valrico (Bloomingdale) FL who knocked down threes and was strong going to the basket; 12) 6’2 Jr Venton Wilder of Weston (Cypress Bay) FL, a strong combo who can create shots for himself or for teammates; 13) 6’6 Jr Altavious Carter from Boca Raton (Grandview Prep) FL, a long, bouncy player who can rebound, start the break, and finish it all by himself; 14) 6’2 Brennan Taylor of Daytona Beach (Father Lopez) FL, an excellent penetrator, passer, and shooter; 15) 6’3 Tavaryus Gray from Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL, who scores from all angles; 16) 6’6 Jr Gabe Rutledge of Gainesville (HS) FL, a relentless rebounder and interior defender; 17) 6’0 Jordan Fair of Oldsmar (Christian School) FL, a North Florida commit who is an excellent shooter from the point guard spot; 18) 6’9 Jr Darius Morales from Orlando (Timber Creek) FL, who runs the floor well, is a good shot-blocker, and is improving offensively; 19) 6’7 Eddie Murray of Fort Myers (Bishop Verot) FL, who hasn’t played basketball long, but leaps well and has a good shot from 15-feet and in; and 20) 6’0 Jr Dominick Robinson of Winter Park (Lake Howell) FL, who played well all day in making plays that were there and getting others involved.
