Anyway, on to MTSU…overall, this team is a statistical win…the Blue Raiders shoot a mere .322% from beyond the arc - a mere 4.4 per game…FAU is bound to shoot well after last games three point fiasco, and if the Owls simply mainitain their healthy .345% and 6.5 per game, we will easily win the long distance battle…
They key is once again going to be defensive prerssure on the low block - which we had none of last game…like USA, MTSU has a healthy inside game - but relies more heavily on it…it is critical that we slow their points in the paint production…
MTSU is led by 6-2 SO G Kevin Kanasskie at 11.9 PPG…but the next two guys go almost as well with 6-7 FR F Desmond Yates at 10.6 PPG, and 6-9 SR F Tim Blue at 9.8 PPG…as one can see, the inside game is where they like to go…
Carlos Monroe is coming off a career high 29 points the other night, and should fair well against the MTSU defense…however, he will need help on the defensive side of the ball, and FAU will probably employ some double teams to help him out…given the fact that MTSU cant make three like USA and New Orleans could, this will play to our favor…
Bottom line here:
WE NEED TO SHOOT WELL THIS GAME…all that was missing last game was the three…i know it can easily be said what should happen, but this game is better for FAU on paper than the last…not to mention the fact that the last two teams shoot better than MTSU from outside the paint…
If we make our standard three point shots (or even get hot), C-Los has a good night, and we defend and get some pressure on their big men to stop post offensive production, we win…and win by 10…if not, we could be in for a dog fight…
Ill take the 10 point win…
Line to come later…
