So whatever that was all about.
I wish the basketball team had told me they weren't interested in scoring points or making shots so I could have gone home at 10 am this morning when my class ended instead of hanging out on campus all day until 7 pm.

The refs…Good Lord! That was a TERRIBLE game on their part. And it was on both sides of the ball, at the end of the first half both Rex and the FIU coach gave the refs an earful, just plain awful.
The fans(mainly students)…we had pretty good numbers, although there were times where it seemed that there was more talking going on than actual watching of the game. It was like they were just hanging out where there happen to be a basketball game going on. And this is my ULTIMATE pet peeve..leaving before the game is over. They just gave up, it was somewhat of a close game, and Graham really started running things and people had already left. That's unacceptable, its lame and it shows how bad our fans really are. THAT is why its going to take a LONG time for us to build ANY type of fan base. People just don't care and thats just lame. I don't understand why we can't have that many students at EVERY game. Ugh, just plain terrible.

Re: Game Thread - FAU vs FIU
Blaming the Refs for losses over and over again is ludicrous. It's like saying we lost the game because of the weather. Both teams have to deal with the same environments.
Bad calls or not, good teams find ways to win. Instead we got stomped in embarassing fashion.
This was designated as my one game a year I go to for basketball and I had a few observations:
1. What is up with the season ticket side of the arena? Are they waiting for Tiger Woods to tee off? So lame and no energy over there, better suited for a golf game.
2. Does FAU even run an offense? I don't remember seeing them call one play.
3. We need to do a better job of being good sports when losing. Flipping off the small crowd of FIU fans in the final minutes and throwing t-shirts on the court at the buzzer was immature and repulsive.
4. FAU basketball seems to have a historical bad disease of having no big men. Why can't we recruit a 7-footer? FIU had a terrible center but he was still an inside presence.
5. I really hope Rex lays into this team. Nobody should come into our home fields or courts with that many people out and beat us in the way we did. No excuses.
Overall, I agree with TeamBeer. This was a great showcase game with a good crowd and FAU dropped the ball…at least the team on the court did.
Like things, love people.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Shooting 40% from the field and 60% from the line is what lost the game PERIOD!
bball is in all accounts done for the year…Baseball has a great opening series this weekend.
