That's to be expected in a recession I suppose. Perhaps a little more alarming is that I heard the state legislature suspended the matching gift program so that takes a lot of wind out of the sails there too.

I'm sure that is the reason the campaign was put on hold. Anything that is received while the gift matching is suspended won't be eligible in the future either. They probably have some big goals in mind and they want to make sure they maximize their effort by doubling the pledges with a state match. If they get some huge donations it would be a shame not to be able to double it. They will probably put the campaign back on line when the state matching is resumed.

If so, I cant beleive we could not use or "borrow" (to be repaid as soon a major donor is involved)the 10M needed to begin the Innovation Village projects, dorms and stadium, from a fund for making those very improvement or additions to the FAU campus.
We are all sitting here wondering, hoping and praying for progress while less than 10% of this fund is temporarily needed for the biggest capital improvment project in the history of the university sits and stalls!
One which will jump us forward in so many ways, from what we are precieved as being - Florida Atlantic Community College - to a true traditional college campus!
Wow, this is actually shocking to me!

I believe the Capital Campaign is used to reinforce academic programs. However, didn't the FAU Foundation lend some money to Athletics to jumpstart the football program?
