An 18-year-old and a 90-year-old were the youngest and oldest students to graduate as Florida Atlantic University conferred nearly 1,700 degrees at three summer commencements.

"This is a moment of high accomplishment," for the graduates and the university, FAU president Mary Jane Saunders noted at the afternoon ceremony Aug. 9 on the Boca Raton campus.

"This is taking place during our 50th anniversary. We've had remarkable growth from an abandoned airfield to 28,000 students on seven campuses," she said.

Wow, VERY NICE. That is a lot to be graduating from the summer sessions. I am sure the Alumni Assoc. is working hard to "include" them already.
