To say HOW SWEET IT IS to have shutout FIU in Football this past season…to have SWEPT them in Men's Hoops by beating them THREE times in one season…and today, to have SWEPT them in Baseball, to allow us to enter the tournament…and end their season

No, im not being mean - im gloating that we SPANKED our rivals in the top three revenue producing sports…….

Ahh, how sweet it is…….

OK, back to reality…next year is fast approaching and we have work to do…….

Absolutely! Go Owls!

I'd love to see this FAU/FIU rivalry grow to the size of the UF/FSU rivalry. This definitely helped. I guess next year will tell if FAU students want to get charged up over it or not.

We had this discussion before. The members of the FIU board claim there is no rivalry in any sport. Not sure how true that is since that is the opinion of a few members of their board and we don't know how everyone else feels. FIU seems to be focusing on UM and want to mirror their success.

From what I have read, the FAU football team gets a little more motivated against MTSU than FIU. There is more of a grudge there. I think the basketball team thinks of FIU as the main rival. Not sure about all the other teams.

If FAU thinks of this as a rivalry and uses it to get fired up, thats great. FIU will show up thinking its just another game and the trend continues.

hmmm…i dont recall hearing that, but you may be right…i do know that this past year they were seriously fired up after last years fiasco down in Miami - when we basically got burried in interceptions and easy TD's…

MTSU was our first Div IA victory, so you may be right…
