Shooting?

According to CBS

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A shooting has been reported on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University.

CBS12 News reporter Josh Repp has confirmed the shooting.

The incident was reported as a 22-year-old man shot multiple times on the roof of a building. He was taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment.

We will post more information as soon as we have it.

Seriously, what the hell? When I went to FAU the worst thing that ever happened was someone stole a bike every once in awhile.

Re: Shooting?

We haven't received any e-mails, phone calls or texts about it and judging from the picture it's not right on campus. It's in the back of campus towards Spanish River where all those shops are

Re: Shooting?

I guess the research park is not considered a part of the campus, because still no alerts. Although FAU police and Boca Raton police are doing a joint press conference at noon.

Re: Shooting?

Apparently it was some homeless guy who threatened the cops with a knife. Bad move.

Unless you are a homeless Rambo you lose that one 100/100 times.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Re: Shooting?

I don't understand the delay in putting the officers on administrative leave.  I thought it was standard practice in police departments to do so after a firearm was discharged, and certainly after someone was shot.  It doesn't imply that they did anything wrong, but provides breathing room for the investigation and for the officers themselves to decompress.
