Senior Caitlyn Bliss and junior Blair Bodenmiller were named first team All-Sun Belt, the conference announced Tuesday,

Bliss made the first team as the designated player. She earned the honor despite missing 12 games due to injury. Bliss leads the team in batting average (.360), slugging percentage (.541), on-base percentage (.446) and triples (four). She earned back-to-back Player of the Week honors earlier this season. Last week, she also received the athletic department’s community service award.

Bodenmiller was named to the preseason all-conference team and proved worthy of the accolades with her play. She is the only player to start and appear in every game this season for the Owls. Her .260 average in third on the team, and she leads the team in several other categories including hits (45), stolen bases (15) and homeruns (seven).

The Owls begin action in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Wednesday. They will face seven seed Troy in the final game of Day One, scheduled for a 6:30PM EST start.
