FAU’s Lantes Earns SBC Soccer Weekly Honors
Lantes posted a record-setting weekend in net as the Florida Atlantic picked up two key home victories. She broke the school record for career saves with six saves in Sunday’s overtime win over Louisiana-Lafayette. The senior broke Molly Keating’s program mark of 321 career saves from 2000-03. Lantes has now recorded 326 saves in her four-year career.
The goalkeeper made four saves in her second shutout of the season on Friday against ULM. Both shutouts have come in SBC action. Lantes tallied a 91-save percentage and stopped 10 of the 11 shots on goal in the two matches.
Lantes currently ranks second in the league in saves per game (6.29), third in save percentage (.846) and fifth in shutouts (2) in SBC matches. She will look to keep the door shut this weekend as the Owls travel to UALR on Thursday and Arkansas State on Saturday.
