The Falcons took a first-half lead in the 35th minute when Cameron Hepple scored off a penalty kick rebound to put Bowling Green ahead 1-0. Three minutes later, Byard Ebling knocked in a rebound after Hunter Van Houten’s free kick deflected off the crossbar to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. Hepple’s second goal of the game in the 53rd minute capped off the scoring at 3-0.
Freshman goalkeeper James McCormick made his first appearance of the season in net as he played the entire second half. The Winter Park, FL native tallied one save and allowed a goal. Freshman Jeremy Crumpton recorded the most wins of any Owl keeper this season. Crumpton started in three of FAU’s four victories in 2009.
Darnell King paced FAU offensively with three shots in the loss. The Tampa, FL native finished the season as FAU's leading scorer. King tallied 15 points in 2009 with six goals and three assists.
