Former Times All-Area player signs with Florida Atlantic

Scott visited FAU – in Boca Raton – earlier this month and didn't hesitate when the school sent scholarship papers last week.

"I got them, read them and sent them right back with my name on them," Scott said. "I'm very excited to have this opportunity."

Scott, a first-team member of the 2008 Times All-Area girls basketball team, averaged nearly 12 points and five rebounds a game through her two-year career at John A. Logan. Scott shot 48 percent from the field as a sophomore and scored a career-high 22 points against Wabash Valley on Feb. 13.
