Jacksonville State upset Ole Miss 49-48 in 2 OT

Mississippi is the first major upset victim of the college football season, losing to Division I-AA Jacksonville State, 49-48 in double overtime Saturday.

Coty Blanchard completed a 2-point conversion pass to Calvin Middleton for the win after hitting Kevyn Cooper with a 30-yard TD pass.

Jacksonville state forced overtime with a 21-point fourth quarter rally. The final seven came with 39 seconds remaining in the period.

The loss spoiled the debut of new Rebels quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who Friday won an eligibility appeal from the NCAA after transferring from Oregon. Masoli completed seven of 10 passes for 109 yards and was Old Miss's QB for both OT periods.

I had the pleasure of being in an Ole Miss bar today and you could hear the life get sucked out of the room in the 4th when Jax tied it. But hats off to theJSU coach...he went for two and the win as you should do in that situation...freaking awesome game
