Baseball: Toppers land in the Top 25
Tops finish season ranked No. 23

The Western Kentucky baseball program is nationally ranked for the first time since 2001, sitting at No. 23 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll.
WKU recently completed its first 40-win season in 21 years. The Hilltoppers (42-20) advanced to the finals of the NCAA Tournament’s Oxford, Miss., regional before falling 4-1 to Ole Miss in Monday’s championship game.
The Hilltoppers also posted a 21-8 record in Sun Belt Conference play for a share of its first SBC regular-season title.
LSU is the nation’s top-ranked team this week, followed by Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, Texas and Florida State.
Ole Miss, which hosts Virginia in the Super Regionals this weekend, is No. 8.
